Custom Colored Adhesive Acrylic Latex Caulking
ColorFlex II is a custom-colored glossy water-based acrylic latex caulking product that has adhesive qualities. It has been used in residential and commercial building interiors for over 20 years. ColorFlex II has a high-gloss appearance when cured and enhanced adhesive and hardness qualities which go beyond those of ColorFlex. Like ColorFlex, it may be custom color-matched and purchased in flexible quantities, making it a unique offering within the industry. ColorFlex II colored caulk is used to seal the inside corners and perimeter of a component, as well as to set backsplashes on countertops. Where flexibility is needed, ColorFlex II colored caulk is an ideal sealant for filling gaps and sealing voids where surfaces meet. This product is regularly sold in the kitchen and bath market for use as a sealant with countertops, backsplashes, mitre joints, cabinets, and vanities. ColorFlex II is also commonly used as a sealant throughout home and building interiors in various other locations beyond kitchens and bathrooms such as around doors, windows, and trim. ColorFlex II is a great solution for customers who have already painted their surfaces and are applying caulking afterward that must be color-matched.
ColorFlex versus ColorFlex II: ColorFlex II may be used in the same applications as ColorFlex because they are both acrylic latex caulking products designed to be used as home and industrial sealants. ColorFlex II, however, may be used in other applications where ColorFlex would be inappropriate. There are three primary differences between ColorFlex and ColorFlex II. First, ColorFlex II has significantly stronger adhesion than ColorFlex. Second, ColorFlex II has greater hardness (Shore A > 55) when cured than ColorFlex, which makes it a pick-resistant product. Third, when cured ColorFlex has a matte finish whereas ColorFlex II has a glossy finish.
ColorFlex II colored caulk is not recommended for outdoor use because its color may fade under direct UV exposure. ColorFlex II is formulated to withstand intermittent water exposure but is not intended to be used in locations where water will regularly pool and lay against it.
